China-Myanmar Border Trade issues with COVID-19

The author of this article, May Poe Thu, described the situation of China-Myanmar Border trade issues during and before COVID-19. In this article, it included the importance of China-Myanmar Border Trade in Myanmar, decrease export trade, trade losses during COVID, institutional efforts to recover the lossess and general analysis.

Remarkable analysis is that “Border trade is unstable due to unstable Chinese market and the changing Chinese policy.”

3rd PPP monitoring in Myanmar: The New Yangon City Project

Third PPP monitoring report by Sandhi focused on the New Yangon City Project. The New Yangon City Project (NYC) is a joint venture Between the regional government owned New Yangon Development Company (NYDC) and the China Communications Construction Company (CCCC). It is an ambitious project to build a new city on the left bank of the Yangon River, adjacent to Yangon City, in order to accommodate the overflow of the old city. In this report, main five major risk factors were broadly analysed with the aim of enhancing the capacity of PPP projects in Myanmar.

Myanmar Government’s responses over COVID-19

Myo Zin, article author, watched closely over government’s responses and analyzed the functioning and results. He especially pointed out the regional planning and actions against COVID-19 and the strong or weak point of rules and regulations enforcement. In this article, the pre-COVID preparations of Myanmar government and action plans during COVID were widely discussed and expressed with strong sources.

Remarkable recommendation of Myo Zin is that “Citizens should have follows strictly over the rules and regulations by Myanmar Government in order to prevent COVID-19 disease transmission.”

He concluded with effective and practical recommendations for both people and government following the government’s responses.

COVID-19 and Domestic Violence

The author of this article, Wint Thu, expressed how much many domestic violence were likely to be occurred during COVID-19 period. Firstly, she discussed what is domestic violence regardless of gender and age especially during the outbreak period. Secondly, the reasons behind the domestic violence were also talked through examples across the world specifically around the ASIA and Myanmar.

Remarkable words that she mentioned is “One out of five women was suffered from domestic violence by their husbands. Recent COVID-19 period, women and children were likely to be suffered from domestic violence more than usual since they have to stay much more longer time in the house.”

Then, she concluded the broad discussion with recommendations over actions for domestic violence with useful information. This article was interested for its in-depth research, analysis and practical recommendations.
