Sandhi’s Public Private Partnership (PPP) Program aims to contribute to enhance private sector role in infrastructure development of the country in a fair and equitable manner. Various assessments made by multilateral and bilateral donor agencies on PPP in Myanmar indicate that capacity of implementing government agencies (IGAs) needs to be enhanced in order for them to implement PPP programs systematically and managing PPP contracts effectively. At the same time, oversight parliamentary committees as well as civil society organizations which are monitoring mega investment projects need to enhance their capacity and understanding on PPPs or else infrastructure development will continue to lag far behind neighboring countries. In this regard, Sandhi is implementing this PPP program which includes capacity building training for parliamentarians, civil servants and civil society organizations and research component which focuses on monitoring of ongoing PPP projects in Myanmar. In addition, dissemination of accurate information and advocacy activities are also included in this program.
