Sandhi has been implementing this Governance & Public Policy Program for more than 8 years and it aims to promote democratic governance and social justice in Myanmar. Sandhi strongly believes that systematic sequencing of reforms and institutions-building are crucial to Myanmar’s transition to democracy. Moreover, operationalization of good governance principles such as participation of communities at different levels is important in formulating public policies and holding authorities accountable for their actions.
In this respect, Sandhi is implementing governance workshops and public policy trainings for parliamentarians, civil servants and civil society organizations. In addition, it conducts research on public services of regional governments, socioeconomic situation analysis of townships and public procurement. Besides, it will publish public policy manuals, governance and public policy commentaries, working papers, policy briefs and PPP guidebooks in the near future under this program.
